What's the purpose of schooling? How can education support the full development of human potential? With these and many more questions in mind I joined the founding team of Portfolio School.
For me, project-based learning (PBL) goes beyond the creation of a project; it's a way to integrate understandings from multiple disciplines, tackle real-world problems, and learn from this process who we are and how we can turn our passion into our purpose. Today I design and implement iterations of systems, physical environments, activities and measurements for this type of PBL. |
"Portfolio School is at the forefront of this trend; its enterprising young students have reached out to NASA engineers to discuss a unit on Mars, and New York University music education grad students have guided them in producing a soundtrack for their moviemaking project.” -The Atlantic-
