Adventures of a Learning Scientist in AI
I'm a happy 2019 OpenAI scholar with Kai Arulkumaran as my mentor :) Last week at the on-boarding day I heard Sam Altman saying he thinks we'll achieve human-level intelligence (HLI) in about 20 years. I just had a daughter a few months ago. This means she will be living with this new creature most of her life. I have so many questions: How can we artificially create our mind? Can that help us to understand our mind? Is this redefining the concept of learning? What are the consequences of it? When Sam Altman said we'll achieve HLI, what type of human are we referring too? Einstein? Hitler? Mother Teresa? Is this super human achievement good for all? How can I participate???
This blog is about my adventures diving into the new but vast world of AI.

Now more than ever education is changing. Now more than ever the disassociation between learning and schooling is palpable. Now more than ever how we prepare our children for an unpredictable future matters. This part of the blog will be dedicated to the use of AI in education.

I LOVE learning. And AI is a place where I can see learning being created, dissected, amplified, stretched, and transformed through our fingers in front of our eyes. This part of the blog is for all those that like research into human learning and are interested in seeing how that relates to AI.

I have really smart friends. This part of the blog is for them. I'm going to map everything I'm learning about AI into a world we are all familiar with: our own learning. I hope we can all understand what's so mesmerizing about AI, and what are and will be the consequence of this new super-powerful-mirroring-tool.
